About

The Ottoman Palace Hammam is our signature ritual, inspired by the hammam tradition of the Topkapı and Dolmabahçe palaces. To the navel stone, kese and foam steps of the traditional Turkish hammam, it adds a body mask or peel that you choose when booking, turning cleansing into a complete ritual finished with skin care.

How does the ritual unfold?

  1. Navel stone: You rest on the heated marble navel stone, preparing body and skin.
  2. Kese: The dead skin layer is exfoliated with a traditional kese mitt.
  3. Body treatment: Your chosen mask or peel is applied to the whole body.
  4. Foam and hair wash: A foam massage and a hair wash with warm water from copper bowls complete the ritual, followed by herbal tea.

The ritual lasts 50 minutes in total.

Which body treatment can you choose?

  • Rose–honey hydrating mask: for skin that looks dry and tired
  • Coffee–almond oil peel: for a smoother feel
  • Green tea–yoghurt soothing mask: a refreshing option for sensitive skin
  • Hammam clay mask: for a traditional, purifying touch
  • Oat–milk softening mask: for extra softness

Who is it for?

It suits those who want to combine a traditional hammam with skin care, anyone looking for a special ritual for an anniversary or other occasion, and guests who want to set aside a long, unhurried afternoon for themselves.

When to be careful

  • A cardiovascular condition or blood pressure problems
  • An allergy to mask ingredients (honey, milk, yoghurt, nuts, coffee)
  • Sunburn, open wounds, eczema or an active skin infection

Frequently Asked

About Ottoman Palace Hammam

What is an Ottoman hammam?

"Ottoman hammam" usually refers to rituals inspired by the grand hammam tradition of the Ottoman era, combining the classic hammam steps with more complete care. The Ottoman Palace Hammam at Aqua Plus includes a body mask or peel of your choice in addition to the navel stone, kese, foam and hair wash.

What is the difference between the Ottoman Palace Hammam and a traditional Turkish hammam?

The traditional Turkish hammam is a 30-minute ritual of navel stone, kese, foam massage and hair wash. The Ottoman Palace Hammam adds a body mask or peel of your choice to these steps, and the ritual lasts 50 minutes in total.

Which body mask should I choose?

For dry-looking skin we suggest the rose–honey hydrating mask, for a smoother feel the coffee–almond oil peel, and for sensitive skin the green tea–yoghurt mask. For a traditional touch choose the hammam clay mask, or the oat–milk mask for softness. If you are unsure, ask your branch when booking.

Can I have a massage after the hammam?

Yes. As the warmth of the hammam softens the muscles, a massage afterwards makes a good complement. If you would like the two back to back, you can plan your appointment with your branch.

How long does an Ottoman Palace Hammam session take?

An Ottoman Palace Hammam session takes 50 minutes. You can choose the duration that suits you when booking.

Who is Ottoman Palace Hammam suitable for?

Ottoman Palace Hammam is suitable for guests seeking a grand hammam ritual, those wanting more complete care, those who would like a body mask or peel and premium spa guests. Please let us know before your appointment if you are pregnant, have had recent surgery or have a chronic condition.

Which areas does Ottoman Palace Hammam focus on?

The treatment focuses on whole body, back, arms and legs. You can agree your priority areas with your therapist at the start of the session.

What is included in an Ottoman Palace Hammam session?

The session includes marble göbektaşı rest, traditional kese, foam massage, body mask or peel, hair wash and herbal tea ceremony.
