About
Sefa-i Pâk takes its name from two Ottoman Turkish words: "sefa", meaning pleasure, and "pâk", meaning clean and pure. This 50-minute ritual spreads the navel stone, kese and foam of the traditional Turkish hammam over a longer time: you rest, cleanse and enjoy the foam without rushing.
How the ritual unfolds
- Navel stone: You rest at length on the heated marble; the warmth relaxes the muscles and prepares the skin for the kese.
- Kese: The dead skin layer is exfoliated with a traditional kese mitt, using pressure suited to your skin.
- Foam massage: A longer, more relaxing massage than in the traditional hammam is given with rich soap foam.
- Rinse: The ritual ends with a rinse in warm water.
The ritual lasts 50 minutes and is available at our Folkart Towers branch in Izmir.

When to be careful

- Waxing, epilation or shaving the day before (freshly shaved skin can be irritated by the kese)

- Sit for a few minutes in the relaxation area and drink plenty of water; get up slowly after the heat.
- Your skin may be sensitive after the cleanse; use a light moisturiser and avoid sunbathing on the same day.
