The Oriental Moroccan Hammam draws on North Africa's long-standing hammam tradition. At the heart of the Moroccan hammam are a dark, creamy black soap made from olives and a clay mask. In the heat, black soap softens the skin and prepares it for the kese, while the clay mask purifies it and leaves it feeling smooth.
How the ritual unfolds
- Warming up: You rest in the warm hammam to prepare your body and skin for the ritual.
- Black soap: Creamy black soap is spread over your body and left on for a few minutes in the heat to soften the skin.
- Kese: The softened skin is cleared of dead cells with a kese mitt.
- Clay mask: A clay mask is applied to your body and then rinsed off with warm water.
The ritual lasts 50 minutes and is available at our Folkart Towers branch in Izmir.

- Sit for a few minutes in the relaxation area and drink plenty of water; get up slowly after the heat.
