About
Anti-cellulite massage is a firm, rhythmic manual technique that aims to help the skin on the legs, hips, abdomen and arms look firmer and smoother. It is more intensive than a relaxation massage and uses firming oils with citrus notes.
What happens during the session?
- Preparation: A firming oil with grapefruit, cedar and rosemary is applied to the areas to be worked on.
- Warm-up: Long, upward strokes warm the tissue.
- Intensive work: Deep kneading (petrissage), pinch-and-roll — gently lifting and rolling the skin between the fingers — and palper-rouler techniques are used.
- Closing: The session ends with rhythmic strokes, followed by herbal tea.
The session lasts 50 minutes with firm pressure, adjusted on sensitive areas.
What to expect
Cellulite is a very common appearance caused by the structure of fat and connective tissue beneath the skin, and massage does not remove it permanently. Regular sessions can help the skin look smoother and firmer for a while, which is why we recommend a programme of 6–10 sessions, twice a week. Drinking enough water, regular movement and a balanced diet support the result.
Who is it for?
It suits those looking for regular care to reduce the look of cellulite, active people who want to support their lifestyle with a body care routine, and anyone starting a structured programme for firmer-looking skin.
When to be careful
- Pregnancy and the early postnatal period
- Varicose veins, phlebitis, a clotting disorder or blood-thinning medication
- A tendency to bruise easily
- Recent surgery or a cosmetic procedure such as liposuction
- Wounds, eczema, sunburn or infection in the treatment area
Anti-cellulite massage or another treatment?
- Spot Massage: a gentler 30-minute option for legs tired from standing all day.
- Ottoman Palace Hammam: a hammam ritual with kese and a coffee–almond oil peel option that cares for the skin all over.
- Classic Swedish Massage: if your goal is overall relaxation rather than skin appearance.
After your session
- Temporary redness and mild tenderness in the treated areas are possible.
- Drink plenty of water and avoid intense exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid sunbathing on the same day after citrus oils.
About Anti-Cellulite Massage
Can massage get rid of cellulite?
No, massage does not permanently remove cellulite. Regular anti-cellulite massage can help the skin look smoother and firmer for a while. The best results come from combining regular sessions with enough water, an active lifestyle and a balanced diet.
How many anti-cellulite sessions do I need?
For a visible difference we generally recommend a programme of 6–10 sessions, twice a week. The length of the programme is agreed in the first session, based on your skin and your goal.
Does anti-cellulite massage hurt or cause bruising?
The pressure is noticeably firmer than in a classic massage, and techniques such as lifting and rolling the skin can feel intense, but there should be no sharp pain. Tell your therapist as soon as you are uncomfortable. If you bruise easily or take blood-thinning medication, be sure to let us know beforehand.
Does anti-cellulite massage help you lose weight?
No. Massage does not cause weight loss or reduce body fat; its focus is the appearance of the skin. Changes in weight and measurements come from diet and regular exercise, and anti-cellulite massage is best seen as skin care alongside them.
How long does an Anti-Cellulite Massage session take?
An Anti-Cellulite Massage session takes 50 minutes. You can choose the duration that suits you when booking.
Who is Anti-Cellulite Massage suitable for?
Anti-Cellulite Massage is suitable for those wanting to reduce the look of cellulite, guests looking for a regular body care programme, regular fitness enthusiasts and those wanting firmer, smoother-looking skin. Please let us know before your appointment if you are pregnant, have had recent surgery or have a chronic condition.
Which areas does Anti-Cellulite Massage focus on?
The treatment focuses on legs, hips, abdomen and arms. You can agree your priority areas with your therapist at the start of the session.
What is included in an Anti-Cellulite Massage session?
The session includes firming oil, warm towels and herbal tea.
